Carvoeiro is a coastal resort and is located approximately 37 miles west of Faro Airport.  It is still described as predominantly a fishing village with life revolving around the busy town square and is often marketed as the Algarve’s “Premier” resort.

It is one of the few resorts to have retained its charm over the years and is now a popular holiday destination.

The main beach is situated at the main town square, is sandy and surrounded by a rocky shoreline.  Some of the spectacular rock formations found in the Algarve can be found in the Carvoeiro part of the coast.  There are several other beaches all within a few miles.

Carvoeiro is well served with excellent restaurants, bars (some of which offer live entertainment) and shops.  The town is also well served with taxis and public transport.  Because of Carvoeiro’s central location on the Algarve it makes it an ideal base to explore the region.

The town has 3 golf courses, two 18-hole courses on the Pestana resort and a beautiful 9-hole par 3 course on Vale do Milho.

With over 30 golf courses in the Algarve offering varying challenges for every level of golfer, more than half of these are within a 30 minute drive away.  With the friendly climate, the Algarve offers year round golf.  Assistance can be provided in booking tee-off times if required.

A horse riding centre and tennis facilities are both easily accessible and the Slide’n Splash water park is only 3 miles west.
